PwC is an official partner of Helsinki Pride 2023
PwC Finland is proud to be partnering with Helsinki Pride 2023. Helsinki Pride is Finland's biggest cultural and human rights event of the year. Pride is celebrated throughout June, after which the event culminates in Pride week from 26 June to 2 July, 2023. The highlight of the week is the Pride parade and park celebrations that will take place on Saturday, 1 July.
Kauko “Kake” Storbacka, who will become the CEO of PwC Finland at the beginning of July, feels that the partnership indicates our commitment to keep building an increasingly inclusive and equal work culture.
- At PwC, we are constantly working to ensure that everyone feels that they are seen and heard as themselves. In recent years, we have taken concrete steps to be better at this, and we will continue this work in the future as well, Kauko says.
Shine ‒ so that no one is left alone
At the beginning of 2023, we launched our internal Shine network. The network promotes LGBTQ+ rights and is open to all our employees. The goal of the network is to develop our work culture in a direction where every PwC employee feels safe and welcome, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression.
The goals of the Shine network are also in line with this year's theme of Helsinki Pride, Joy and Riot. According to Helsinki Pride, "to change the world we need both".
‒ No one should ever have to hide themselves, quite the opposite. All of us should be able to be ourselves with pride and joy, says PwC's Inclusion & Diversity Leader Niina Vilske.
